Rural Lifestyle Options Australia

For almost 30 years, Rural Lifestyle Options Australia (RLOA) has been dedicated to addressing unmet need across rural and regional communities. Whilst their organisation was founded in providing high quality disability support, today they have grown to supporting people experiencing a range of community hardships, re-enforced by their purpose of ‘Thriving people, Strong communities’.
Their footprint has grown considerably since their inception, allowing them to address local issues in rural and regional communities across Queensland and New South Wales. Rural Lifestyle Options Australia’s commitment to the people who access their services remains resolute, proudly underpinned by the organisation’s motto of “Big enough to provide the service, small enough to look after you.”

Since 2015 CBA has been working with the board, CEO and senior staff on key governance projects. These projects including governance reviews and plans, board and executive staff performance reviews and Director recruitment processes have provided RLOA with a strong governance framework, practical tools and resources to support volunteer Board Directors successfully guide and lead in a time of significant reform of the disability and aged care sectors.

Working with Patrick and Community Business Australia meant that we were about to transition from a Management Committee to a Board of Directors, including assisting the organisation to successful transition from an Association to a Company Ltd. Patrick was a valuable source of advice in relation to good governance principles and assisted the Board to develop action plans, complete Board and CEO reviews as well as successfully recruiting highly skilled Directors for our Board.

Regardless of the size of your organisation, I would recommend engaging the expertise of Patrick and Community Business Australia.
