Akooramak Care for Older Persons

The COVID-19 world-wide health pandemic had significant impacts on health care systems across the world. In Australia, regional aged care providers were hit hard through additional operational costs, regular lockdowns, and managing staffing shortages. 

CBA working with the Board, assisted Akooramak with the placement of experienced aged care professionals including:

  • Interim Chief Executive Officer – CBA’s Aged Care Management Consultant, Robyn Kross
  • Interim Director of Care – CBA’s Clinical Specialist, Tracey Peterson
  • Virtual CFO – CBA’s Finance Consultant, Peter Jardine

These placements provided the Board time to complete a number of key strategic and operational projects including:

  • Working with the Board and interim management, CBA’s Principal Consultant developed the next three-year strategic plan.
  • Working with the Board and interim management, our Human Resources Consultant Ingrid Kemp completed an organisational restructure resulting in a new structure to better fit its current operational requirements. Ingrid also worked on site to assist in the change management process.
  • Working with the Board, Treasurer, external auditor and interim management, CBA’s Finance Consultant Peter Jardine assisted with an independent review of Akooramak’s financial position. In addition, Peter will continue for a 12-month period in a virtual CFO role to assist Akooramak.
  • CBA working with the Board assisted in the recruitment of the next CEO and Director of Care positions.
